[Multicultural Disaster Prevention Workshop Report]
KISSA participated in the planning and sponsorship of a workshop hosted by Koganei City, held at Honcho Elementary School on October 12th.
Foreign and Japanese residents of the city gathered around a table to learn about local disaster prevention and easy-to-understand Japanese. The event concluded with a tour of the emergency preparedness warehouse, deepening interactions between residents in a fun environment.
KISSA will continue to plan events promoting multicultural coexistence, so please join us!
[Children's Hands-on Class Held!]
On Sunday, October 26th, seven elementary school students attending KISSA's East Center Japanese Language Learning Class made rice pizza at Tokyo Gakugei University's Iketo Ogawa Play Park in Koganei City.
They threshed the rice by hand, cooked it in a clay pot, mashed the cooked rice, and rolled it out like pizza dough. They spread ketchup and mayonnaise on top, topped it with halal chicken sausage, paprika, broccoli, bell peppers, cheese, and other toppings, and baked it in the clay pot. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the delicious pizzas.
After the meal, the children enjoyed playing games like "Daruma-san ga Koronda" outside.
Today's event was sponsored by I MISSION, one of the labs at the Tokyo Gakugei University Explayground Promotion Organization, with a grant from the Kirin Welfare Foundation.
